This questionnaire asks for considerable detailed information about an organ. If the organ is playable, many experienced organists or any qualified organbuilder or technician would be able to answer all of the questions. It is not necessary for you to respond to all of the questions in order to submit this questionnaire. When in doubt, photographs (or videos) are most useful to us.

If you are not familiar with pipe organs and the jargon that describes them, photos, measurements, and stoplist are adequate. You can obtain the stoplist simply by copying down exactly everything that is written on the controls around the keyboards (knobs, buttons, switches, etc.) We suggest you do that on graph paper according to the console's layout.

In return for this service, the Organ Clearing House typically receives a Finder's Fee from the Purchaser. Under some circumstances, the Seller may wish to arrange to pay that fee when the sale is arranged. It is also typical for the Purchase to assume responsibility for the removal of the organ. When an organ is sold, we will assist both parties in the description of the terms and conditions of the sale.
